Inspired by the Olympics? Why not dive into your new pool?

The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio have recently come to a close, with the Australian contingent performing particularly well in the pool. Claiming 3 gold medals is a fantastic effort, even for a team with the lofty expectations and weight of the nation on their broad shoulders.

As is the case with the majority of major sporting events around the world, watching athletes bring home the gold from the comfort of the lounge room, often sparks a fire in the belly, which gets us up off the couch and into a mindset that would inspire our beloved Bruce McAveney to describe as: DELICIOUS!

Despite the fact joining the Aussies in the green and gold for Tokyo 2020 could be a tall order for even the most dedicated swimmers, you can now perfect your backstroke in the comfort of your own backyard with the help of a lap pool, designed just like a racing lane.

A backyard swimming pool is perfect for you if you love the water or are interested in a low-impact workout that delivers outstanding endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. But where should you start before diving head first into a backyard pool project?

How to Keep Kids Safe Around Pools and Spas

Despite the fact winter is well and truly upon us here in Victoria, now would be the perfect time to consider evaluating the safety of your pool or spa, in particular the safety barrier that separates you, your friends and family from the potential dangers of drowning.

In Australia, it goes without saying, we love the water, but that certainly doesn’t save us from the harsh realities of an alarming national increase in drowning deaths, particularly of young children in backyard pools and spas.

The Royal Life Saving Society’s annual drowning report recorded 271 deaths due to drowning last year, with 26 of those of preschool-aged. That was a 30 per cent increase on the 20 young children who died in the previous year, representing one in 10 drowning deaths.

Frameless Shower Screens 101

Everything you need to know about buying a frameless glass shower

This guide will cover:

  • How much will a Frameless Shower Screen Cost?
  • Frameless Shower Screen Designs
  • Options and Accessories
  • Installation
  • Ensuring Quality Materials
  • Maintenance
  • Gettin a Quote

Frameless shower screens deliver a sleek and simple design in an area of the home that frequently appears crowded as it is typically limited in space. The option is ideal for remodels as well as for bathroom renovations that require a modernized appearance. Since frameless shower screens are a popular feature of upscale resorts and spas, your home’s bathroom will gain this high-end look when you install one.

A frameless shower screen is self-supported. As a result, a small amount of hardware is used to connect the panels. This design makes the shower easy to clean. With limited hardware, you can avoid the struggle of matching the metal type to your bathroom’s other fixtures, which increases your styling choices. The fixture option is also more hygienic because glass is a nonporous material that does not support the growth of bacteria or germs.
